The Three Stooges' successful smear campaign against Susan Rice

The Three Stooges, Neocon war mongers John McCain and his little puppet boy, Lindsey Graham, along with "Shemp," Kelly Ayotte, have successfully smeared U.N. Secretary Susan Rice over Benghazi, Libya.

Today, the Three Stooges got what they wanted: Susan Rice withdrew her name from consideration for Secretary of State.

U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice has withdrawn her name from consideration to replace Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State, NBC News reports:

“If nominated, I am now convinced that the confirmation process would be lengthy, disruptive and costly – to you and to our most pressing national and international priorities,” Rice wrote in a letter to President Obama, saying she’s saddened by the partisan politics surrounding her prospects.

“That trade-off is simply not worth it to our country...Therefore, I respectfully request that you no longer consider my candidacy at this time,” she wrote in the letter obtained by NBC News.

President Obama shortly after announced that he has accepted her decision to withdraw, lamenting partisan attacks that plagued Rice following the attacks in Benghazi, Libya.

"While I deeply regret the unfair and misleading attacks on Susan Rice in recent weeks, her decision demonstrates the strength of her character, and an admirable commitment to rise above the politics of the moment to put our national interests first," Obama said via a statement.

The disingenous John McCain issued a statement, Thanking Rice, ‘Wishes’ Her Well (he said with a satisfied Chesire Cat grin):

Statement from McCain's office, via CNN:

"Senator McCain thanks Ambassador Rice for her service to the country and wishes her well. He will continue to seek all of the facts surrounding the attack on or consulate in Benghazi that killed four brave Americans."

McCain's puppet boy, little Lindsey Graham, posted a short and sweet tweet, saying I Respect Rice’s Decision. No word from "Shemp."

This country can no longer afford to allow these Neocon war mongers to determine our foreign policy. Haven't they done enough damage already? This is disgraceful. This should not be tolerated.
