The Obama campaign has a new Web video featuring President Bill Clinton arguing that Romney’s tax plan would cut taxes on the rich, and would not pay for itself.
The "Secretary of Explaining Stuff" frames the case against Romney’s tax plan as a battle of values — as “we’re in this together” versus “you’re on your own.”
Video below the fold.
Description of web ad:
President Clinton explains Mitt Romney's $5 trillion tax cut and how
middle class families with children will get an average tax increase of
$2,000 to pay for $250,000 in tax cuts for multi-millionaires.
As President Clinton shares:
"In
the first debate, Governor Romney said that he wasn't really going to
cut taxes on upper income people—he only wanted to cut taxes for middle
class people. That's not true."
UPDATE: The New York Times' editorialized in an opinion today that Romney "needs a working calculator," adding, "It is increasingly clear that the Romney tax 'plan' is not really a plan at all but is instead simply a rhapsody based on old Republican themes that something can be had for nothing. For middle-class taxpayers without the benefit of expensive accountants, the bill always comes due a few years later."
UPDATE: The DNC's new spoof website, RomneyTaxPlan.Com, mocks Mitt Romney's refusal to divulge details of his tax plan. The site has gone viral on social media.
