I see that the League of Women Voters has scheduled some candidate debates, and the Pima Council on Aging has scheduled some candidate forums.
There are the Clean Elections debates required for the few Clean Elections candidates that we have, and I am sure that Arizona Public Media (PBS) will schedule their lame "conversations" with the candidates in their TV studios.
But when is the corporate media, who is rolling in campaign cash in this Citizens United era, going to get together and sponsor a series of public debates between the candidates? Spend some of that campaign cash on venues for public debates. What's wrong with our TV news teams and newspapers of record, like the Arizona Republic and the Arizona Daily Star? Where is their civic responsiblity to host a series of public debates for the candidates? Carmona vs. Flake, The congressional candidates, etc.
The media does this in other states, but it does not seem to occur here in Arizona. They do know that ballots go out in the mail on October 11, don't they? Tick-tock.
