Wow, flashback to the 80s. The new wave/punk rock music group Devo (best known for "Whip It!") announced they will release a song titled, "Don't Roof Rack Me, Bro (Remember Seamus)" (audio link). Dog Seamus, mistreated by Romney gets song, video and app, watch and listen:
In case you missed the story: on a 12-hour road trip, Romney and family rode inside the car while Seamus was held captive in a small kennel attached to the roof. According to the Boston Globe it wasn't long before eldest son, Tagg, yelled out Dad! Gross! When he saw a brown liquid was dripping down the windows.
Romney’s choice of how to deal with the obviously distressed Irish Setter? To simply pull over and hose down the dog, the car, and the kennel. Apparently Seamus was not removed from the kennel, calmed down nor had his fur dried off after the cold hose blast ~ the family just drove off with the dog still confined on the roof.

The song is one component of Gerald V Casale’s (one of Devo's founders) campaign Remember Seamus which proposes to make 2012 the year where animals like Seamus are valued and honesty is praised. The campaign is supporting the facebook page Dogs Against Romney, as well as contributing to the upcoming video game The Crate Escape: Seamus Unleashed. The game is to be released on August 26, which just happens to be National Dog Day.
“This isn’t a red-state thing or Devo stumping for Obama,” Devo’s Jerry Casale told Rolling Stone. “But I think any animal lover that hears the story will learn so much about the character flaw of Romney. It’s just a deal-breaker about the man. My God, the world is a scary place with seven billion people. What you want in a leader is a guy with some humanity at his core. I just don’t feel that Mitt does.”
They're also creating an iPhone app for the tune called the Crate Escape – a game where players attempt to free Seamus from his crate.
