Paul Ryan's is one of Wall Street's most devoted partisans on Capitol Hill, a veritable lobbyist inside Congress for all of their interests. Teabaggers don't like politicians who voted for the irresponsible Bush bank bailouts? Ryan didn't only vote for it-- twice-- as a high ranking member of Ways and Means and Banking Committee, the he persuaded dozens of reluctant GOP colleagues to vote for it and after it failed the first time, is said to have been the key figure in passing it the second time a week later!
And how did the GOP's alleged boy genius explain his votes? In an interview with The Daily Beast, Palin's Favorite Republican - The Daily Beast, Paul Ryan was asked why, if he is so fiscally conservative, he voted for the bank bailout. In response, the Republican Party‘s serious big brain policy guy explained that he voted for the bank bailout because of this.
"Ryan said his vote for the bailout was influenced by Jonah Goldberg's Liberal Fascism, a popular book among conservatives that argues that Nazism and other fascist movements were actually left wing in origin, and his belief that a second Depression would threaten capitalism—and rescue Obama's presidency." - The Daily Beast
So boy genius believes that Nazis were a left-wing political movement? And he has the audacity to compare Democrats to Nazis? He and Jonah Goldberg are pseudo-intellectual revisionist history ideologues.
What other pseudo-intellectual ideologue influenced Paul Ryan? He admits that it was Ayn Rand who inspired him to get involved in politics:
"The reason I got involved in public service, by and large, if I had to credit one thinker, one person, it would be Ayn Rand," Ryan said at a D.C. gathering four years ago honoring the author of "Atlas Shrugged" and "The Fountainhead."
Ryan believes that social insurance programs that have saved countless people from poverty are actually a grand form of tyranny holding back the creative potential of the oppressed John Galt producer class -- the so-called "job creators" who have failed to create jobs for more than a decade while hoarding massive amounts of wealth and corporate profits in off-shore tax havens.
Paul Ryan claims to be a Catholic, so why does he idolize a bad science fiction writer who rejected all forms of faith and religion, and rejected Christian altruism for "moral nihilism" (morality does not inherently exist, and any established moral values are abstractly contrived) and "ethical egoism" (people should act in their own self interest).
The U.S. Conference of Bishops denounced his spending plan this spring, arguing that it “fails to meet” the moral principles of the Catholic Church. And Paul Ryan refused to make time to meet with the "Nuns on the Bus" tour a few weeks ago. (Update) Nuns on The Bus Tour Wraps Up.
