So Vernon Parker commissions a poll and -- surprise! -- Vernon Parker is the leading GOP candidate in the new CD 9. You get what you pay for, I guess.
To paraphrase Ernest (the late Jim Varney), it sounds like a push poll, "you know what I mean Vernon?"
Even so, the leading GOP candidate in a landslide is "undecided" with 48% of the vote. Oooh, that's gotta hurt. AZ/DC Blog - azdc - Half of CD9 Republican voters undecided:
A new poll suggests nearly half of Republican voters in Arizona's new congressional district, the toss-up District 9, are undecided about who they'll vote for in the Aug. 28 primary.
Voters may be holding out judgment due to the size of the GOP primary -- seven candidates in all -- and the fact that most of the candidates are not well known.
The American Viewpoint poll, commissioned by the campaign of GOP candidate Vernon Parker, surveyed 300 likely Republican primary voters, including a portion by cell phone, June 3 and 4. The campaign did not release the full poll, which had a margin of error of plus or minus 5.7 percent.
[That's a huge margin of error there, Vernon, you might want to ask for a refund from your pollster.]
The selected poll results show that 48 percent of voters had not chosen a candidate to vote for. Among those who said they had decided, the results broke down this way:
Vernon Parker -- 21 percent
Wendy Rogers -- 12 percent
Martin Sepulveda -- 8 percent
Travis Grantham -- 4 percent
Lisa Borowsky -- 2 percent
Leah Campos Schandlbauer -- 2 percent
Jeff Thompson, who only recently announced his campaign, was not included.
When this "Seven Dwarves Primary" is over the last man -- or woman -- standing will be defeated by the winner of the Democratic primary in November. Have fun while it lasts.
