David Crowe, the Republican-cum-Democrat who first ran for the U.S. Senate and then decided to challenge Congressman Raúl Grijalva in the new CD 3 Democratic primary, has decided to drop out of the race and endorse conservadem former state Sen. Amanda Aguirre. Raul Grijalva challenger David Crowe Robles drops out. As I've said before, Crowe had more ambition than common sense.
The other Democrat in this race is Doctor Juan Manuel Arreguin. Neither Aguirre or Arreguin have shown any ability to raise campaign funds or to establish a ground game. Congressman Grijalva is not seriously threatened in this Democratic primary.
It was rumored this week that Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu would be quitting the CD 4 congressional race and crawl back to Pinal County with his tail between his legs to run for reelection as sheriff. The scandals that have dogged Babeu including the recent Hatch Act violations by his deputies campaigning for him while on the county's time and dime had taken their toll.
Sure enough, today Paul Babeu is dropping out of GOP congressional race in Arizona's 4th Congressional District | Arizona Capitol Times. He'll have plenty of company. Besides Babeu, three other Republicans are running for sheriff in Pinal County, as well as two Democrats and an independent.
Just do the right thing, Pinal County, and vote this corrupt embarrassment to Arizona out of office.
The CD 4 GOP primary is down to carpetbagger Congressman Paul Gosar, who abandoned his current District 1 constituents for the other side of the state, and Tea-Publican wingnut state Sen. Ron Gould.
Speaker of the House Andy Tobin earlier announced that he would not be a candidate in the CD 4 GOP primary. Now that Sheriff Babeu is out of the race, Tobin should reconsider. You've got 19 days to collect enough valid signatures -- c'mon Andy, nobody wants you as Speaker of the House anyway. Let's see if you've got the right stuff -- and quit pissing away our tax dollars pursuing frivolous litigation against the AIRC for your precious district maps ("precious, my precious").
