Somehow I missed this bit of trivia from TIME magazine back in December. Romney and Bush Are Cousins, Ancestry.com Finds | NewsFeed | TIME.com:
Believe it or not, Mitt Romney and George W. Bush are cousins — 10th cousins, twice removed, that is. Historians at Ancestry.com, the world’s largest online family-history resource, have discovered that Romney is actually related to six past presidents — more than any other 2012 GOP contestant. Franklin D. Roosevelt is his eighth cousin, twice removed, and both Calvin Coolidge and Herbert Hoover are his 10th cousins. Then there is his sixth cousin (four times removed) Franklin Pierce, and both 10th cousins Bush I and II. Three out of these six were even (gasp!) Democrats.
So I take it the recent "Bush Dynasty" endorsements of Willard "Mittens" Romney are sorta all in the family. Maybe that's why "Jebby" Bush decided not to run, the "Bush Dynasty" determined that it was Cousin Mittens' turn to run, to be followed by Jeb Bush, and so on and so forth. You know how a patrician dynasty works.

As a result of the Bush economic platform, “growth in investment, GDP, and employment all posted their worst performance of any post-war expansion,” while “overall monthly job growth was the worst of any cycle since at least February 1945, and household income growth was negative for the first cycle since tracking began in 1967.” Meanwhile, the deficit and debt exploded. It would have to be quite the update for the GOP to make anything better happen this time around.

And Willard "Mittens" Romney will be Cousin George W. Bush redux. It's time to forever rid ourselves of this cursed "Bush Dynasty."
