Beginning at 10:15 a.m., there will be a showing of the documentary “Gerrymandering.” Presented by former state representative Pat Fleming, the movie illustrates how the process of redistricting has reshaped elections and the importance of competitive districts. Working with the Arizona Competitive Districts Coalition, a non-partisan coalition of individuals and 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations to promote competitive districts during the 2011 Arizona redistricting process, Fleming will discuss why district lines need to be drawn fairly, and why competitive districts are central to what will happen in our state as we prepare for the 2012 election season.
